Demand for Lettings Remains Strong

11/02/2008

Aitchisons’ lettings department is reporting strong demand among professionals and families alike, with demand outweighing supply. With a large and expanding register of applicants ready and waiting to move within the local area Aitchisons have managed to take on and let properties within 24 hours of marketing!

The continued growth in the department has lead to the estate agency recently employing an additional lettings consultant, Selina Ajibade, to assist lettings manager, Chloe Stone.   The lettings department covers property in the Hemel Hempstead, Berkhamsted, St Albans and Watford areas including all the surrounding villages.

“New build properties are particularly popular such as Mezza Luna in St Albans, Turner Court in Berkhamsted and The Pulse in Watford” says Chloe Stone.  “But the most important factor for this market is being close to amenities such as good transport, shops and restaurants.”

Both furnished and unfurnished properties are renting well with most lettings being for six or 12 months.

Aitchisons’ advice for buy-to-let and other landlords is to ensure the properties are kept clean and up-to-date with modern finishes.  “Many people are now actively choosing to rent rather than buy properties but they still expect to get good quality and an attentive landlord is usually able to avoid expensive void periods” says Chloe.
