Landlords beware…

As of 1^st October 2008 all Landlord’s will need to make an EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) available to prospective tenants the first time you let a home and Aitchisons lettings have been busy contacting their clients to inform them of the new regulations.

The Energy Performance Certificate gives home owners, tenants and buyers information on the energy efficiency of their property. It gives the building a standard energy and carbon emission efficiency grade from ‘A’ to ‘G’ where ‘A’ is the most efficient and with the average to date being D.

EPC’s can only be produced as a result of a survey by an ‘accredited’ Domestic Energy Assessor and Aitchisons are well positioned internally to provide an EPC via our qualified surveyors at a cost of £75.00 + VAT.
